Sunapee is lake house country. Most of what we do here is a second home, booked for the months the family is not in it.
Horsth Plastering covers Sunapee, New Hampshire from our base in White River Junction. Around the lake most of what we touch is a second home, so the calendar matters as much as the wall. Owners hand over the key in the fall and want the house finished before the family comes back, which is why the bigger Sunapee jobs get scheduled off season and run straight through with nobody in the house.
The rooms here also run to wood and lime rather than flat painted drywall: board walls and ceilings, exposed beams, porches that got closed in at some point, and finishes that have to sit next to old stain without fighting it. Lime plaster, limewash and marmorino belong in that kind of room, and they take the damp and the temperature swings of a house that gets shut down for part of the year better than paint does.
On older houses here that usually means repair work: cracks, water damage, ceilings that have started to sag, and patches from previous owners that never matched. On new construction and additions it means insulation and walls flat enough that a painter can work with them straight away.
Around the lake the housing is a mix. There are camps that were built for July and have been winterized since, with board walls and ceilings, additions framed onto the original footprint, and finishes that were never meant to sit through a winter with the heat down. Then there are the larger second homes built to be used all year, which are usually drywall and want a flat finish in rooms with a lot of window.
Both come with the same constraint, which is the season. Nobody wants a crew in the house in August. So the disruptive work goes in the off season, the house is empty while we run it, and the finishes we use are the ones that take a cold, damp shoulder season without complaining.

When I needed a someone to hang and finish drywall in my new house, Diego was the only one to respond in a timely manner. He was extremely responsive and he scheduled faster than other companies have for my past projects. The communication was solid and the price was more than fair. The quality of finish was on point. It is rare these days to find a company that I have had such an enthusiastically positive experience with. Diego’s guys are artisans. Watching them work is a ballet of talent. Price is very reasonable for such a great product, esp since our job had a certain amount of complexity involved - 14’ commercial ceilings at ASt Commerce Park. Highly recommend.

Diego and his crew are far and away the easiest sheetrock contractor I’ve worked with. They fit into my schedule, they worked hard and fast to hang and worked cleanly and thoughtfully to mud, tape, and sand. Can’t ask for anything more.
