What we do in Lebanon
Horsth Plastering covers Lebanon, New Hampshire from our base in White River Junction. We handle the whole interior surface, insulation in the cavity, board on the studs, plaster or skim coat over it, and the decorative lime finishes on top.
On older houses here that usually means repair work: cracks, water damage, ceilings that have started to sag, and patches from previous owners that never matched. On new construction and additions it means insulation and walls flat enough that a painter can work with them straight away.
The houses in Lebanon
A lot of Lebanon went up in the fifties and sixties, and that stock comes with its own list. Ceilings are often sprayed or textured, and the texture has to be matched or taken off, not painted over one more time. Walls are frequently plaster over rock lath, which is thinner and harder than the older horsehair work and cracks in straight lines along the joints. Insulation at the wall cavity and the attic is usually thin or missing.
The good news is that these houses are square. Once the repair is done, a skim coat lands flat quickly and the room is finished in days rather than weeks. The other half of our Lebanon work is newer construction and the additions going onto those same houses, where the job is insulation, board and a clean finish.
