Got a project in mind?

Most people do not call a plasterer because they want new walls. They call because something on the wall is bothering them every single day.

  • A patch that reads like a patch the moment the afternoon light hits it.
  • The same crack opening at the same seam every winter.
  • Drywall dust in the kitchen cabinets, two rooms from the work.
  • A crew that came four days the first week, two the second, then stopped answering.
  • Walls that looked fine until the painter rolled the first coat.

Tell us which one it is. We will tell you what it actually takes to fix it, and what it costs, before you commit to anything.

Every surface in the house, one contractor.

Insulation, drywall, plaster and finish are usually four phone calls and four schedules. Here they are one. Click any point on the house.

How we work

Four things decide whether you are happy at the end of a plastering job. We treat all four as part of the price.

One crew, start to finish

The people who hang the board are the people who tape it and sand it. Nobody rotates off your job halfway through and leaves the next guy to guess.

Texture that matches

We work out the pattern on a sample board and show it to you first. A repair should disappear into the wall, not sit there as a rectangle you can spot from the doorway.

Dust stays in the room

Plastic on the doorways, zippered entries, HEPA vacuum sanding in occupied houses. You keep using your kitchen while we work on the rest.

A schedule you can plan around

You get the start date, the sand date and the day your painter can walk in. If something moves, you hear it from us before you notice it yourself.

The owner is the one holding the trowel.

Diego Horsth runs this company and works the jobs alongside his crew. The person who prices your walls is on site while they are hung, taped and sanded, which is why the reviews name him and not a company.

A good share of the work comes from general contractors who call us back on the next build, and from homeowners we have worked with across several projects and several years. That is the part that is hard to fake. People who have already seen the invoice come back for the next one.

Our finish guarantee

If a seam, a patch line or a nail pop shows up in our work after the paint dries, we come back and fix it. No charge, no argument about who caused it.

When I needed a someone to hang and finish drywall in my new house, Diego was the only one to respond in a timely manner. He was extremely responsive and he scheduled faster than other companies have for my past projects. The communication was solid and the price was more than fair. The quality of finish was on point. I only recommend him to all my contractor friends/customers.

It is rare these days to find a company that I have had such an enthusiastically positive experience with. Diego’s guys are artisans. Watching them work is a ballet of talent. Price is very reasonable for such a great product, esp since our job had a certain amount of complexity involved - 14’ commercial ceilings at ASt Commerce Park. Highly recommend.

Diego and his crew are far and away the easiest sheetrock contractor I’ve worked with. They fit into my schedule, they worked hard and fast to hang and worked cleanly and thoughtfully to mud, tape, and sand. Can’t ask for anything more. I’m bring them in for my next project in Burlington and to work on my own home.

White Horsth Plastering pickup truck parked at a job site in front of a house under construction

Out of White River Junction, across two states.

Diego Horsth started this company with one truck and one set of trowels out of White River Junction. The first jobs were repairs on old houses in Hartford and Norwich, the kind of work where you either match the existing plaster or everyone can see that you did not.

That is still the standard we run on. The company is bigger now, it covers insulation and decorative lime finishes as well as drywall, and it works both sides of the Connecticut River. But it is still small enough that Diego is on your job, with his own hands on the wall.

More about us

Common questions

What areas does Horsth Plastering serve?

We work across Vermont and the Upper Valley of New Hampshire, from White River Junction and Hartford out to Woodstock, Burlington, Stowe and Killington, and across the river in Lebanon, Hanover, Manchester and Concord.

How long does a typical project take?

A standard drywall or plaster project runs about a week from start to finish. Decorative finishes like Venetian plaster and tadelakt take longer because each coat has to cure. You get the dates before we start.

Are you licensed and insured?

We carry general liability insurance, and we are licensed and certified for insulation work in both Vermont and New Hampshire, including spray foam, blown in cellulose, fiberglass batts and acoustic insulation.

Do you offer Venetian plaster in Vermont?

Yes. We are one of the few contractors in the state doing real lime based Venetian plaster, tadelakt, marmorino, microcement and limewash, not painted imitations of them.

How do estimates work?

They are free and detailed. We look at the space, measure it, and give you a written number broken down by scope. Price depends on square footage, finish level, materials and the condition of what is already there.

Can you work while we are living in the house?

Yes, and most of our repair work is in occupied homes. We seal the work area with plastic and zippered doorways and sand with HEPA vacuum attachments so the dust stays in one room.

Tell us about the walls.

Send the rooms, the rough square footage and when you want it done. You get a written estimate with the scope broken down, free, and nobody calls you twice a week afterwards.
